Elevator Pitch

Booth & Sons refurbish residential properties and list them as short‑term serviced accommodation—giving contractors and larger travel parties a "home‑from‑home," while offering landlords a hands‑free, fee‑free alternative to traditional lets.

Project Origins & Scope

  • Family beginnings: After renovating their own house, the Booth family spotted demand for
contractor accommodation and decided to scale those skills into a family business.
  • Legacy first, site second: Serviced units were already live on Airbnb/Booking.com; the website
was added later to build credibility and capture direct bookings.
  • Role & stack: A SiteBeast build—WordPress + Oxygen, integrated with the Guesty booking
engine. My remit covered UX, design, copy, and technical build; a future‑proofed template was
    delivered in under a week.

Goals & Success Metrics

  1. Drive direct bookings to sidestep OTA fees and own the guest relationship.
  2. Establish brand credibility for both guests and prospective landlord partners.
  3. Lay a foundation for future SEO and multi‑city growth.

No granular KPIs yet—the brief was “work flawlessly and look professional.” Repeat‑stay email prompts
encourage guests to book direct next time.

Information Architecture & Flow

  • Top‑level nav: Locations → Sheffield / Swansea, About Us, Landlord Partnerships, Contact—keeps
cities separated for correct Guesty instances
  • Booking funnel: Homepage → location → property → Guesty sub‑domain checkout. Each click
reinforces trust with amenity icons, review snippets, and high‑res photos.
  • Scalability: Swansea section was cloned from Sheffield; the same pattern can add future cities
    without bloating nav.

Technical Build & Performance

  • Stack: WordPress + Oxygen; Guesty booking on a sub‑domain. If Guesty ever changes, the site
can pivot to another engine with minimal disruption.
  • Performance: Image optimisation, lean Oxygen setup; alt‑text and meta descriptions in place.
  • Accessibility: Baseline contrast & keyboard‑nav friendly headings—future releases will deepen
    ARIA work.

Content & SEO

  • Keyword focus: “Contractor accommodation [city]” for launch; broader terms planned for
    phase‑two SEO.
  • Future content: Blog posts (landlord guides, local area tips), plus link‑building with local
    employers and trade associations.

Launch & Iteration

  • Roll‑out: Sheffield template built first; Swansea cloned once proof‑of‑concept proved solid.
  • Current status: Version 1.0 live; awaiting budget for meta‑tag refinements and deeper
    optimisation.

Outcomes & Reflection

  • Too early for hard metrics—the build‑only scope meant impact tracking sits with the Booth family.
  • Wishlist: Multilingual copy, richer SEO.
  • Takeaway: Integrating Guesty directly was a new skill set—valuable for future hospitality
    projects that need OTA independence.
